The Paasbach is a flowing water in Sprockhövel and Hattingen , Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis . It is a tributary of the Sprockhöveler Bach , which flows into the Ruhr in Hattingen . While this corresponds to the local understanding and the usual topographical maps ( German basic map ), in the water book of North Rhine-Westphalia the Sprockhöveler Bach is regarded as an inlet and the Paasbach as the main body of water that flows into the Ruhr.

The Paasbach rises on the Winterberg in Stüter . Then it flows through the nature reserve Wald am Oberen Paasbach in a northeasterly direction. In Vogelbruch it takes up the stream Am Vogelbruch and the Heimbecke and flows to the Paasmühle . The Paas farm, after which the stream is named, is also located here.

Behind the Paasmühle turns north. It breaks through the coal mountains here, where the Alte Haase colliery has been mining its coal since ancient times. Behind the Am Waskönige farm , the stream turns to the northwest. Behind the embankment of the Hattingen – Wuppertal railway line , it reaches the town of Bredenscheid , where it joins the Sprockhöveler Bach .

In Bredenscheid, renovation work on the Paasbach took place in 2020.
