Tanja Weil

Tanja Weil (born September 16, 1973 ) is a German chemist . She has been Director at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research since 2017 .

Life

Weil studied chemistry at the Technical University of Braunschweig and received his doctorate from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research. Between 2002 and 2008 she held various leading positions at Merz Pharmaceuticals GmbH in Frankfurt am Main . In 2008 she was appointed Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore and in 2010 came to Ulm University as Director of the Institute for Organic Chemistry III / Macromolecular Chemistry . Tanja Weil is co-editor at ACS Nano , member of the editorial board of J. Am. Chemistry. Soc. and the Board of Trustees of Angewandte Chemie. She has been Director at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research since 2017 and heads the “Synthesis of Macromolecules” working group.

Her scientific interest is in innovative synthesis concepts for the production of functional macromolecules and hybrid materials to solve current challenges in biomedicine and materials science .
