Country Sports Cup

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Landsportpokal was a popular sports competition in the GDR. Teams from municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants were eligible to participate. It was played in team sports such as soccer, handball and volleyball, but also in non-Olympic disciplines such as table tennis or bowling at the time. The competitions took place at district and district level. The district winners were able to qualify for the finals at GDR level in group qualifications. The finals took place in one of the qualified municipalities.
