A land syndic (historically also land syndic , landscape syndic ) was the leading legal representative of the estates in sovereign rulers until the early 20th century.

tasks

A state lawyer usually had a law degree in general (Roman) law , sometimes also in canon law . He organized the assemblies of the estates ( state parliaments ), occasionally presided over them and was responsible for the entire protocol area, for writing down the resolutions, etc. The state syndic also appeared as the spokesman for the estates vis-à-vis the sovereign, paid homage and advised them Representatives of the estates in legal matters.
