Michael Kotulla

Michael Kotulla (born June 19, 1960 in Hanover ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

Kotulla left secondary school in 1976 and trained as a car mechanic until 1979 . He then attended a vocational school in 1979/1980 and a vocational high school from 1980 to 1983. This was followed by basic military service in the Bundeswehr from 1983 to 1984 .

After high school, he studied 1984-1989 Law and 1985-1993 partially parallel Historical Sciences at the University of Marburg . He passed his first state examination in law in 1989; He completed his history studies in 1993 as a Magister Artium (M.A.). To the Dr. jur. He received his doctorate in Marburg in 1991 ; In 1993 he also passed his second state examination in law. In 1999 he completed his habilitation at the University of Lüneburg . In the same year, Kotulla was appointed to the newly established "Chair for Public Law , in particular Environmental Law " from Bielefeld University. Since April 10, 2002, Kotulla has been director of the Institute for Environmental Law, and since January 2009 a member of the University Council of Trier University . Kotulla was Dean of the Law Faculty at Bielefeld University from 2010 to 2012 . Already 2009-2010 and again 2012-2013 he held the office of Vice-Dean .

In addition to environmental law, Kotulla's research focuses on German constitutional history from 1806.

He is married and has two children.
