Langdysse in Asnæs Forskov
The Langdysse in Asnæs Forskov is a dolmen near Årby south of Kalundborg on the Danish island of Zealand . It is one of the older monuments of the Funnel Beaker Culture (TBK - 3500–2800 BC) on the Asnæs peninsula ( Asnæs halvø in Danish ). It has been partially restored.
The Langdysse comes from the early Neolithic (around 3500 BC). The southern part of the barren bed fell into the sea due to coastal erosion.
The rest of the north-east-south-west oriented megalithic bed measures around 6.5 × 22.0 m (including the curbs) and is around 1.0 m high. There are three broad curbs on the northern short side, 16 on the eastern long side and eleven on the western side. The southern part of the megalithic bed with the chamber has sunk into the sea.
Nearby are the rock carvings at Asnæs Kirke and Ormshøj .
