Wietrzychowice hill 3

The long hills of Sarnowo are barren beds and part of the very well-preserved Neolithic burial ground of "Grobowce kujawskie" in a forest near the village of Sarnowo near Włocławek in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland .

description

The long Kujaw hills are trapezoidal with the large stones of the edging on the front. The smaller stones in the side border are seldom preserved. Their length is 50 to 80 m with a height of up to 1.6 m.

Nine long burial mounds, known as the Niedźwiedź type (NTT) systems, have been preserved. Their excavations 1950–1951 and between 1966 and 1971 yielded funeral beaker culture (TBK). Amber jewelry , flint and ceramics were among the rich grave goods . A non-megalithic, Neolithic burial ground with body burials was discovered nearby . Sarnowo is the second best preserved group of Kujavian long graves (behind the group in Wietrzychowice ).
