Kathinka Hedwig Agerskov

Kathinka Hedwig Agerskov , also Cathinca Hedvig (born August 8, 1859 in Flensburg , † November 23, 1890 in Frederiksberg ), was a Danish genre painter .

Life

Kathinka Hedwig was the daughter of the captain Andreas Julius Agerskov (1811–1872) and his wife Kathinka Elisabeth Jakobine, geb. Boast.

She was trained by the landscape painter and etcher Vilhelm Kyhn (1819–1903) and studied in Copenhagen with the painters Carl Thomsen (1847–1912) and Christian Thørrestrup (1823–1892).

She has been exhibiting at Charlottenborg Palace since 1884, mostly small interiors and genre pictures with few figures. When the art school for women associated with the Copenhagen Art Academy was founded in 1888 , she attended the school's preparatory class from February / March 1889 and the model class in spring 1890, which she had to leave shortly afterwards due to illness; she died that same year.

Kathinka Hedwig married the doctor Ernst Carl Michael Christian Bilsted (1853-1936) on July 25, 1889 in Frederiksberg.
