A last chance check (LCC) is a visual inspection of military aircraft shortly before take-off . Technical ground personnel examine the aircraft, for example for open flaps, leaking liquids, damage to the aircraft tires or damage from foreign objects ( foreign object damage ). At airfields, the LCC is carried out at fixed positions in the immediate vicinity of the runway .

National Peoples Army

In the Air Force / Air Defense of the National People's Army , this visual inspection was carried out by the so-called Technical Control Post (TKP) .

Civil aviation

In addition to the preflight check, civil aviation usually dispenses with further, final and external visual checks immediately before take-off.

In racing , for example, the regulations of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship provide for a last chance check.
