Running analysis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The gait analysis as the gait analysis trying a range of motion analysis and to describe the running movement by certain parameters. The methodologies are taken from the gait analysis , with a special setup, e.g. B. on the career is chosen.

Mostly visual methods are used, often in a less professional setting such as large sports retailers. The quality and informative value of the measurement depends partly on the validity of the selected methodology, but also on the expertise of the person who interprets the results and forwards them to the runner.

It is also critical to question what it brings for the runner himself. While in the gait analysis either a research question (a hypothesis in the form of a question) is to be worked on, or in the clinical application a therapy concept is created based on this type of diagnosis, the pure running analysis / running style analysis / treadmill analysis is a documentation for the runner (if it is also saved), which has no further use for the athlete without accompanying technical training by means of a trained trainer. A shoe choice (supported or neutral shoe) based on a laboratory measurement ( treadmill analysis ) is also critically questioned.
