Treadmill analysis
Treadmill analysis refers to the evaluation of the movement pattern of the foot in order to determine any incorrect position in the movement pattern. If the foot is supinated or overpronated , it makes sense to use mechanical measures to support the foot and thus prevent it from buckling.
As a rule, during the treadmill analysis, the movement pattern on the treadmill is recorded by video camera , while the test person walks barefoot. This recording can show in the still image whether the foot is buckling or twisting in the course of the running movement . The treadmill analysis is important to correct misalignments through the selection of suitable supports (e.g. in running shoes ) and to prevent damage to the joint and skeletal system.
Clinical gait and running analyzes are performed using the same method . The aim of the treadmill analysis is usually to provide sound advice to help you choose the right running shoes. The shoes in question are in turn worn for a test run on the treadmill in order to check their suitability in a new video analysis. In addition, the analyst should ask about the duration and frequency of training, the floor walked, the use of insoles and previous injuries of the test person.
