Laura ( Marshallese Ḷora ) is a motu in the west of the Majuro Atoll of the Pacific republic of the Marshall Islands . On average, it is about 3 meters (10 feet) above sea level. Laura has the highest peaks in the entire Majuro Atoll. Laura is connected to the neighboring island of Djarrit by a 50 kilometer long road, the Lagoon Road . Artificial land reclamation was also carried out on the island.

The name Laura was given to the island by GIs in honor of the movie star Lauren Bacall .

In 1999 Laura had 2256 inhabitants.
