Laurent Marcangeli

Laurent Marcangeli (born December 10, 1980 in Ajaccio ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 2012 .

The Corsican Marcangeli joined the Gaullist party RPR in 1997 at the age of 16 . He then studied history and law at the University of Corsica . In 2008 he started working as a lawyer after completing his studies. In the same year he entered the city council of Ajaccio. In 2011 he was also elected to the General Council of the Corse-du-Sud department . In the 2012 parliamentary elections , he ran for the UMP in the first constituency of the Corse-du-Sud department and entered the National Assembly. Contrary to the national trend, he was able to beat the previous left-wing MP Simon Renucci and at the age of 31 became the youngest MP from Corsica.
