lock
The Lauterborn Castle, consisting of a manor house, a house for servants, stables, barns, chapel, castle garden and pond, was once a domain of the Echternach Abbey and dates back to a donation from Provost Berengaud between 926 and 931 Built in 1774 by the architect Paul Mungenast under Abbot Michel Horman as the residence of one of the monks. In the course of the French Revolution , the castle was auctioned in 1797. It changed hands several times and is still privately owned today.
chapel
The chapel belongs to the castle as a private property. The foundation stone for the chapel was laid in 1628, it was completed and consecrated in 1629. At the end of the 18th century the chapel was rebuilt in the Rococo style, probably under the architect Paul Mungenast . Above the entrance is the coat of arms of Abbot Limpach and a statue of Our Lady, inside a rococo altar from the time of construction with an older picture depicting the coat of arms of Abbot Petrus Fisch (1628–1657). The chapel was badly damaged in World War II , renovated in 1960 and rededicated by Bishop Léon Lommel .
Mills
There were a total of five mills in Lauterborn. The first mill is mentioned in a document in 1581. Today one of the mills, the Dieschbourger Mill, is still in operation, and another is a hotel-restaurant.
