Laverna
Laverna was an ancient Roman deity who owned an altar on the Aventine in Rome. She probably belonged to the underworld gods. At least since Plautus ( Aulularia 445) she was considered the protective goddess of thieves and fraudsters.
She gave the name to a city gate of the Servian Wall , the Porta Lavernalis , because it was located near a sacred grove of Laverna.
