The District lawdar ( Arabic مديرية لودر, DMG mudīrīyat Laudar ) is a district in Abyan Governorate in Yemen . In 2003 it had a population of 88,155. The city of the same name, Lawdar, houses its administrative headquarters.

Lawdar District had a total population of 103,534 in 2012.

Heavy fighting broke out in Lawdar in late 2010 and early 2011 between government troops and insurgents who, according to the government, belong to al-Qaeda in Yemen .
