Le Balentes are a Sardinian folk and pop music trio . Outside of Sardinia they became known for their song Cixirì , which reached the top 20 of the Italian charts . Despite their roots in traditional Sardinian folk music, they keep opening up to modern music trends : with Cixirì they created a summer hit à la Las Ketchup , while they collaborated with the Sardinian hip-hop group Malos Cantores for the piece Peppucciu (2006) .
