Lech Jankowski (born April 1, 1956 in Leszno ) is a Polish composer, painter and ethnologist.

Lech Jankowski mainly composes theater and film music. He is also the director of his own performances that combine instrument and music theater as well as elements of the visual arts. In 1994 he received an award from the Polish monthly Teatr for the performance A day from the life of Erik S. , which he realized using music and texts by Erik Satie . As a composer he works with various theater directors, mainly in Poland.

He composed music for several films by Brothers Quay , a. a. Street Of Crocodiles based on the story by Bruno Schulz (Prize for Music at the International Festival for Animated Films in Zagreb , 1986) and Institute Benjamenta, Or This Dream People Call Human Life based on Robert Walser . In 2017 he wrote music for the animated film Edge of Alchemy by Stacey Steers .

He presented his painting, which has elements of magical realism , in several solo exhibitions. His paintings are in private collections in Poland and abroad. He lives and works in Poznań .
