Ulrich Sommer (lawyer)

Ulrich Sommer (born 1952 in Herne ) is a German criminal defense attorney . He is honorary professor at the University of Cologne .

Life

Sommer studied law at the Universities of Bochum and Cologne from 1970 to 1975 , received his doctorate in 1979 on a criminal law topic and was admitted to the bar in the same year. He has been a specialist lawyer for criminal law since 1998.

Since 1998, Sommer has been a member of the preliminary examination committee of the Cologne Bar Association for the award of the title "Specialist in criminal law". From 1996 to 2006 he was on the board of the Cologne Lawyers 'Association and from 2001 to 2005 on the board of the German Lawyers' Association . Since 2002 he has been a member of the AG Criminal Law of the German Lawyers' Association. From 2002 to 2004 he was the German delegate to the Council of the Bar Association of the European Community CCBE in Brussels, and since 2004 he has been a member of the European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA).

Ulrich Sommer has been a lecturer at the University of Cologne since 2004. In 2010 the University of Cologne awarded him the title of professor .
