The Lech Museum Bavaria is located in and around the Langweid run-of-river power plant on the Lech Canal in the municipality of Langweid am Lech . It deals on the one hand with the hydropower plant built in 1906 and on the other hand with various aspects of the Lech River . The building is a listed building .

The museum operated by the Lechwerke is located on a total area of 700 square meters in one of their power stations on the Lech. It is divided into three sub-areas. In the outdoor area, the power plant educational trail presents the entire system of the manufacturing plant with canal dike, water inlet, power plant building, transformer station and a raft replica. In the machine hall of the power plant, a decommissioned Francis turbine with generator that has become accessible can be viewed .
In the castle-like bare brick building in historicism style , a two-storey permanent exhibition on the Lech as a natural area, economic factor and historical scene as well as a representation of the development of hydropower on the Lech , electrical energy and the Lech works will be presented, supported by a documentary about the Lech. All areas also have an interactive display suitable for children.

The Langweid run-of-river power plant was built in 1906 together with a first extension of the Lech Canal and is used to generate electricity.
