Legon is a suburb of Accra , the capital of the West African state of Ghana . Legon is located about 12 kilometers northeast of the center of Accra and is known as the seat of the University of Ghana , the largest and oldest university in the country with 24,000 students. The district is divided into the residential areas "West Legon" and "Ostlegon", which are separated by Eastlegon Road. Both neighborhoods are considered affluent residential areas.

The soccer club FC Nania Accra , which plays in the Ghanaian Division One League, is based here.
