The FC Nania Accra (often Abédi Pele's Nania Accra FC is called) is a Ghanaian football club from the 12 km north-east of Accra lying suburb Legon . The former Ghanaian international Abédi Pelé is president and coach of the club, which was founded in 1998 .

Current

In 2011, the club was the first second division team to sensationally win the Ghanaian FA Cup 1-0 after extra time against top club Asante Kotoko . The team thus qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup , the African version of the UEFA Europa League .

When a few months later the Ghanaian Supercup was won 4: 3 (1: 1 after extra time) against the sovereign Premier League champions Berekum Chelsea on penalties, FC Nania Accra finally went down in Ghanaian history books.

However, the promotion to the Premier League failed again and the Confederation Cup semi-final game against FC Séquence from Guinea was waived.

On March 28, 2007, FC Nania and Gt. Mariners for promotion to the Premier League. The two were tied at the top, if both teams win, the goal difference would determine the promoted team. FC Nania set a new record against Okwawu United with a 31-0 win in Ghana and Gt. The Mariners won 28-0 against the Mighty Jets. As it turned out, both Nania and the Gt. Mariners agreed with their opponent. The Ghana Football Association annulled the results and suspended the two clubs for a year in addition to a fine. The persons identified as responsible were also blocked.

In addition, the Ghanaian Football Association introduced the "head-to-head" rule to prevent such agreements in the future.
