Founded in 1894 as a trading company, the company has developed into an application-oriented sales organization with 407 employees - with long-term connections to the international procurement markets and with its own production. Sales in 2019 amounted to € 247 million. In 2019 the company celebrated its 125th anniversary.

The products, especially plastics, chemical raw materials, auxiliary materials and additives , go to a large number of customer industries (breweries, wine producers, plastics industry, lacquer and paint industry, pharmaceuticals, rubber industry, beverage and food industry, polyurethane processors, lubricant manufacturers, pulp industry, refractory industry, Cosmetics industry) for further processing or to make manufacturing processes more economical. Subsidiaries exist in Germany, Great Britain, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Poland, the USA, China, Korea and Switzerland and together with the parent company Lehmann & Voss & Co. form the Lehvoss Group with 657 employees and € 379 million in sales in 2019.
