Lehmener Ausonius stone

Lehmener Ausoniusstein is one of the four vineyards in Lehmen on the Untermosel (Terrassenmosel).

Like the lookout point of the same name in memory of the poet and prince tutor Decimus Magnus Ausonius (310–393), who described the Moselle landscape in his Mosella in 371 . It is mainly a terraced steep slope on stony slate and greywacke weathered soil (90% steep, 10% flat). The total area is about six hectares, only about three hectares are cultivated.

The slope is up to 70% in the south-east (80 to 180  m above sea  level ). Grape varieties are Riesling (94%) and Pinot Blanc (6%).
