Lists on the subject

LeiShi-6 ( Engl .: Donnerstein), LS-6 for short , is a guided bomb kit that was introduced by the People's Liberation Army in 2006.

Development of the LS-6 began in 2003 at the Luoyang Optoelectro Technology Development Center (LOEC). This kit is a kind of backpack system with fold-out wings that is placed on the back of a 500 kg or 250 kg free-fall bomb . Furthermore, a module with stabilizing fins was attached to the rear of the bomb. This module contains the INS, the flight control and a battery. In 2010, Luoyang presented new versions of the LS-6 at the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai. In addition to the 500 kg and 250 kg versions, a 100 kg and 50 kg version is now also available. The two small variants have four trapezoidal wings in an X-arrangement instead of the wing attachment. The IIR (Imaging Infrared) seeker head attached to the tip is also new.

According to official Chinese information, the LS-6 was tested on the Shenyang J-8B with a CEP of 15 meters.
