Norheimsund is the administrative center of the Norwegian municipality of Kvam and one of the largest towns in Hardanger . The place is on the north side of the Hardangerfjord , 74 kilometers east of Bergen . In recent years, Norheimsund has grown together with the neighboring Øystese and now forms a joint Tettsted .
The famous Steinsdalsfossen waterfall is located about two and a half kilometers outside the village .
