Body bag
The body bag is an airtight and liquid-tight bag made of special plastic that is used to transport corpses from the place where they were found (e.g. the scene of a crime, a natural disaster or military conflict) for further examination, e.g. in forensic medicine , or directly for Burial, is used. Specific virus dense body bags, for example, for victims of epidemics such as the Ebola fever , used to the people, medical personnel and undertaker to protect against infection.
Body bags come in various sizes for adults, children, and infants. There are also oversized bags with a load capacity of up to 400 kg.
When reporting, images of body bags lined up are often used as a drastic and striking means of depicting the number of victims.
