financing

The principle of “free buying” used for financing enables full article access even for non-subscribers. The financing runs entirely through the so-called reader club members and through advertising on the site.

On August 7, 2016, the site went into a pure “readers club mode”, which means that articles are only visible to subscribers. The release of all articles for all users was tied to the condition that the newspaper reached 1,500 readers' club members. Many users criticized this approach on the newspaper's Facebook page. The newspaper for its part justified the procedure with falling advertising income. Not all articles are available to all users, but some articles are reserved for readers 'club members, as the goal of 1500 readers' club members was not achieved.
