Leipziger Lerche is a magazine for the book and publishing industry that is regularly published as part of a project by the media faculty of the Leipzig University of Technology, Economics and Culture (HTWK).

The project was created in 1994 in the book trade / publishing industry course. Since then, the Leipziger Lerche has been published every spring at the Leipzig Book Fair and in autumn at the Frankfurt Book Fair with a circulation of around 3,000 copies, which are distributed free of charge in the media industry. The 40th issue was published in spring 2014.

The magazine is planned, produced and distributed exclusively by students studying the book trade / publishing industry. This also includes the acquisition of advertisements and sponsors. Printing takes place in the HTWK's in-house print shop.

Today, the Leipziger Lerche is an industry magazine that is accepted and recognized by the profession. As early as 1995 she received the "Medienstadt Citizen Prize" from the Medienstadt Leipzig e. V. in the journalism category.
