ICD-10 online (WHO version 2019) |
A groin strain is a strain of the tendons of origin of the adductors in the hip joint , as is the case with a sudden and uncontrolled abduction , e.g. B. a tackle in football can occur.
Adductor group
- Pectineus muscle
- Adductor longus muscle
- Adductor brevis muscle
- Adductor magnus muscle
- Gracilis muscle
- Obturator muscle externus (not counted as part of the adductor group by all authors)
Symptoms
- Pain (possibly only when exercising) at the tendon attachment or in the pubic region
- Painful adduction against resistance,
- Abduction painful and with restricted mobility
- Possibly swelling
therapy
There are numerous therapeutic approaches. What they all have in common, however, due to the high risk of a chronic course, is a reduction in load and, depending on the severity of the injury, a longer break in sports. After the symptoms have subsided, there is usually a remodulation phase to reduce the risk of renewed injuries to the attachment tendons.
