Leitrim (Ottawa)
Leitrim is a district of Ottawa , Ontario . The district is located just outside the green belt , approx. 15 km southeast of downtown Ottawa near the international airport . The name comes from the Irish County Leitrim .

The district of Leitrim is located southeast of downtown Ottawa. The area of the district is surrounded by several streets: Leitrim Road, which connects the district with the city center, runs to the north, Rideau Road to the south, Bank Street to the east and Albion Road to the west.
Demographics
In 2011, around 10,000 people lived in the settlement in mostly detached single - family houses . The average household income is well above the Ottawa average. Leitrim's population has been growing for several decades. The district is one of the fastest growing in the city of Ottawa.
history
The place belonged to the municipality Gloucester (Ontario) until the year 2000 and was then incorporated into Ottawa as part of the great regional reform in Ontario.
CFS Leitrim
Canadian Forces Station Leitrim, or CFS Leitrim for short , is a Canadian military base that mainly deals with the encryption and decryption of messages. The base is in close proximity to Ottawa Airport.
Infrastructure
Leitrim has a police station, golf course, ice rink and several shops. The City of Ottawa has also developed a long-term development plan for the neighborhood, the Leitrim Community Development Plan. This plan is intended to promote the long-term development and growth of the district and help in the sensible use of free-standing areas and new projects in the district.
