The Lenz type z were cogwheel steam locomotives that were procured for the Owl Mountain Railway in Silesia operated by Lenz & Co. The Maschinenfabrik Esslingen afforded 1.9 thousand three C1 '/ b-n4 locomotives.
To distinguish them from them, the three C / b-n4t rack-and-pinion locomotives procured in 1904 for the Görlitzer Kreisbahn were given the type designation b z
