Leons Massacre is an Austrian metal band from Deutschlandsberg . The band name is derived from the film Léon - The Professional .

history

Leons Massacre was founded in 2009 by front man Alexander “Alex” Sommerhuber, guitarist Martin “Matt” Koinegg, bassist Clemens “Cle” Bückner and drummer Stefan “Steve” Hadler. After the first demo songs, the debut album World = Exile followed , which was released on November 11, 2011 on the German record label Deafground Records . The music consists of a mixture of Nu Metal , Hardcore Punk and Metalcore . In September 2011, the band released their first music video, There's No Time to Write a Poem . In spring 2012 Stefan "Steve" Hadler switched to guitar. He was replaced by Martin "MJ" Sackl on the drums.

On December 7, 2012, a year after their debut, their second album Turning Point was released on the music label Noizgate Records . The title not only stands for their musical changes, but also for the turning point when Steve, one of the founding members, left the band and was replaced by Philipp "Phil" Ferrari. In November 2014, the band embarked on an extended tour of Eastern Europe, Russia and Ukraine for the first time to promote their new music video, This Earth Is Priceless . After a successful tour and the release of the music video, the band began to work on new material.

In spring 2014 Martin "MJ" Sackl left the band. He was replaced by Philipp "Figo" Kollmützer. In spring 2015, Leons Massacre signed a record deal with Go With Me ( Bullion Records ) and released their third album Dark Matter on June 10th in Japan.
