Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc (Eng. The Little Singers of Saint Mark ) is a nationally known school choir from near Lyon . He became known throughout Europe through his participation in the award-winning film The Children of Monsieur Mathieu .
General
The choir was founded in 1986 by Nicolas Porte , who still leads the choir. It consists of 75 to 80 children between 10 and 15 years of age. All singers study at the Saint Marc center in Lyon .
The children join the choir in the first year of school. In the fifth year of school they switch to the Ensemble Vocal de Jeunes (German youth vocal ensemble ), which is also directed by Nicolas Porte. The choir is represented in several choir organizations.
