Lex Lingua has been running the legal language editorial team in the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection since 2013 .
The linguistic processing of the legal norms is carried out according to guidelines and principles that are laid down in the manual on legal formality . In principle, even complex issues should be structured logically and clearly:
‣ if possible only one thought per sentence,
‣ no more than three sentences per paragraph and
‣ no more than five paragraphs per paragraph.
Activity for the federal editorial office
Since 2016, the company has also been responsible for quality assurance of performance information on laws and ordinances of the federal government as part of the federal editorial team, a project of the government program " Digital Administration 2020 ". The aim is to ensure the quality of this service information through understandable and citizen-friendly language without changing the technical and legal content. This service information is fed into the LeiKa service catalog , a database to which all authorities (federal, state, local) have access and which serves as a source of information in information systems.
