Lex Ortega

Lex Ortega (born February 25, 1980 in Mexico City , Mexico ) is a Mexican film director , sound engineer and screenwriter .

Life

Lex Ortega studied sound engineering at the Trebas Institute in Montreal , Canada and film studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

After a few short films, he participated in 2014 as one of eight directors in the episodic horror film México Bárbaro . He was also involved with an episode in the second part .

In 2015 his feature film debut Atroz was released . In 2012 he had already shot the short film Atroz in the style of a snuff film , which was included in the actual film. Ortega combined motifs from the snuff film with those from the Found Footages film.

In addition to his work as a film director, he is primarily active as a sound engineer and has participated in both Mexican productions and international productions such as 21 Gramm (2003) and Frankenstein's Army (2013).

Lex Ortega founded his own grindcore band The Massacre Must Begin in 2007 , he is also the singer of the band Belibette.
