Lexeme variation
In linguistics, lexeme variation is the replacement of lexemes by others with the same reference .
Lexeme variation is an essential criterion in text linguistics for the unity of a text . With their help, the connection between the sentences of the text ( coherence ) becomes clear. A simple repetition of lexemes ( lexeme recurrence ) is also possible with larger gaps between the sentences concerned . Both processes are involved in the construction of isotopes . Brinker (2001: 27ff.) Deals with these cases under the heading "explicit resumption."
