Li Ao (772-841)
Li Ao (* 772 ; † 841 ) was a reform Confucian around the turn of the 9th century AD.
Li Ao was a friend of Han Yu, who was also reformist Confucian . Both criticized the mixed culture with Buddhist , Manichean and Nestorian elements that developed after the An Lushan rebellion . In January 809, Li Ao left Luoyang and traveled by ship from Huang He to the Canton area to take up a government post.
