Liberala samlingspartiet
Liberala samlingspartiet ( Swedish for Liberal Collection Party ) was a liberal party represented in the Swedish Reichstag .
history
The party was founded on January 16, 1900 by the merger of Folkpartiet and two liberal groups in the Reichstag Friesenska discussion clubs and Bondeska discussion clubs . The new party joined a conservative part of Lantmannapartiet and independents to. One of the main goals of the party was the introduction of universal suffrage .
When it was founded, the Liberal Gathering Party had 84 members in the Second Chamber of the Reichstag. In the election to the Swedish Reichstag in 1905 , the party was able to achieve its best result with 106 seats and, following the election with Karl Staaff, was the prime minister (1905-06). The party provided the head of government two more times, from 1911–14 (also Karl Staaff) and 1917–20 with Nils Edén .
In the dispute over a general alcohol ban , the party split in 1924 into Frisinnade folkpartiet and Liberala riksdagspartiet .
