Liberty (Washington)

Liberty is a small unincorporated area in Kittitas County , Washington state . As one of many gold prospector camps, Liberty was founded after gold was discovered at Swauk Creek in 1873. These deposits are remarkable for their crystalline gold finds.

Liberty was formerly known as Williams Creek. His name was given to him by Gus Nelson in 1892.
