The Liberty Lady Fashion GmbH is a branch company based in Lübbecke . Liberty Damenmoden GmbH sells women's outerwear in over 100 of its own branches and an online shop under the name Liberty woman.
history
The company was founded in 1976 under the name Liberty Freizeitmoden with the first branch in Herford. The range included sporty women's and men's fashion. In 1978 the range was switched to women's fashion with a sporty, feminine statement and the company name was changed to LIBERTY women's fashion. A year later, the company's headquarters were relocated to Lübbecke and nine more branches were opened in the East Westphalian region. In the following years the branch network was continuously expanded across Germany. In 2007 the shares were taken over by the textile manufacturer Bell Rain from the Netherlands. At the beginning of 2009, the company began to reorientate itself after a bankruptcy . In 2011, a strategic owner consortium, consisting of Arcadia Beteiligungsgesellschaft, Peter Wolf and CEO Peter Friedrich, acquired the company. Liberty Damenmoden has been running an online shop since 2010.
