Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( LIHK ) is an association under private law within the meaning of Art 246 ff. PGR . It is the voluntary representation of interests of the larger Liechtenstein industrial companies, three banks and some service companies.

General

The Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry was founded in 1947 as the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce . In 1980 it was renamed the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It represents the interests of around 40 Liechtenstein member companies.

tasks

The focus of the tasks is on representing the members by actively helping to shape the economic framework in the country. This is achieved through advocacy, advice and services for the member companies.

According to its own definition (website), the LIHK wants to make an active contribution to the development and maintenance of attractive framework conditions and to sustainably securing the competitiveness of Liechtenstein as a business location . She works with the identification and development of new future opportunities and possibilities for the business location .

The main tasks are (quote from the website):

  • To protect and represent the interests of member companies,
  • promote a healthy economy,
  • To deal with and regulate questions that relate to the relationship between employers and employees and apprentices in a uniform manner,
  • to promote export trade.

Since 1949, the LIHK has also offered certificates of origin and a certification service, and more recently a platform for arbitration tribunals.

The LIHK is the employer representative for all industrial and service companies that are member companies.

The Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry is based in Vaduz .

Structure of the LIHK

The organization of the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry consists of a board of directors and a management. There are also six specialist groups, five working groups and an advisory board (for research and technology)

AGILE

The ArbeitsGruppe IndustrieLehre (AGIL) is a committee of the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Eight people responsible for training from LIHK member companies and the LIHK deputy managing director founded this working group at the end of 2002. The aim is to promote apprenticeships in the region.

The Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry is largely financed through membership fees.
