Lifers Group
Lifers Group is a hip-hop band that was formed in New Jersey State Prison , Rahway Prison and founded in 1970 . The members of this band are or were convicted felons who had to serve 25 years or more. Through the prison system and a lot of time to think about it, Lifers Group also started a youth welfare project to show the young people on the street that it is not cool to be a gangster . The Lifers Group achieved this primarily through their songs, which describe everyday prison life and the individual fates of the band members.
