Ligade

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the art of fencing , the ligade ( Latin ligare "to bind") denotes a kind of fake that is related to the battuta .

In the ligade, your own blade describes a circle from backwards to forwards in such a way that its circumference strokes the opponent's blade at as acute an angle as possible. As a result of the friction applied in this way , the opponent's blade is jerked, knocked to the side or thrown out of the hand entirely.
