Limbo refers to a place in present-day Tanzania , which is located approx. 75 kilometers south of Dar-es-Salaam and 25 km from the Indian Ocean .

Excavation site

An Iron Age settlement has been excavated near it . It is one of the earliest Iron Age settlements (100–250 AD) in this area. Excavations unearthed large amounts of iron slag, evidence of iron processing on site. In addition, ceramics were found, which forms a style of its own and is distantly related to that of Kwale .
