The magazine was meant to reach boys who didn't read other titles like Mickey Mouse magazine . The title contained adventure comics, various celebrity contributions, and areas on technology and science , similar in content to the American Disney Adventures published in America . After several months of testing, it was published by Ehapa- Verlag in 1993 . Limit contained 40% editorials for readers interested in action, adventure, and comics . Topics such as wrestling , American football , motor sports , action heroes and other heroes of this age group, as well as nature issues such as dangerous or endangered species were subjects of the articles. In addition, particularly exciting or spectacular professions, events or finds were presented.

A target group analysis showed that 85% of 9 to 11 year olds and 93% of 12 to 14 year olds paid for the magazine with their pocket money. Seventy percent of readers first heard of Limit through a television advertisement, and 95% reported seeing the last Limit advertisement. The magazine was tested in two areas of Germany before it appeared nationwide. In one area, Limit advertised exclusively in Mickey Mouse magazine, in the other also with television advertising. Sales in the second area were 58% higher than in the first area. Limit sales averaged 260,000 per issue.
