Limit

Limite is a collective pseudonym of a group of French science fiction authors who published the collection of short stories Malgré le monde by Denoël in 1987 under this name . The volume contained the following stories:

According to the blurb of Malgré le monde , the group was constituted on December 13, 1986. The name of the group is explained there as follows:

"LIMITE.

1. Nfpl. Qui travaillent là où s'arrête le travail des autres ( La nuit, les hommes rôdaient dans ces rues troubles où officiaient Limite , Ch. Bignoux).
2. Adv. Dangereusement, excessivement, avec la volonté d'aller le plus loin possible ( Il photographiait limite des couchants et levers. LF Céline).
3. Hist. Groupe d'amis officiellement constitué en apparence de mouvement le 13 decembre 1986. "

The story Le Parc zoonirique , written by Francis Berthelot, won the 1988 Grand Prix de la Science-Fiction Française .

In 2006 the group was temporarily revived through an initiative by the La Volte publishing house in the form of a second anthology in which ten more stories by the Limite authors appeared under the title Aux limites du son , namely:

• Philippe Curval: Mes Relations avec Lugrustan
• Lionel Évrard: Le Soliloque des limbes

• Jacques Barbéri: Fais voile vers le soleil
• Frédéric Serva: Petites musiques entêtantes
• Francis Berthelot: La Symphonie inaccessible
• Lionel Évrard: Le Monde intérieur
• Emmanuel Jouanne: Acrobaties hors de propos

In the case of Emmanuel Jouanne, the three contributions were the last texts he published before his untimely death in 2008.
