Limniace

The Limniăce , also Limnate , is a nymph and daughter of the Ganges. Her son Athis is killed by Perseus in the noise made by Phineus .

It is mentioned by Ovid in the Metamorphoses :

"There was Athis from India, whom Limnate, the daughter of the Ganges, in a crystal flood, they say, gave birth, stately in stature, the splendid suit heightened, blooming and fresh, a sixteen-year-old boy."
