The Lishi Zhongwen zidian ( Chinese  李氏 中文 字典 , Pinyin Lǐshì Zhōngwén zìdiǎn , English Mr. Li's Chinese Dictionary ), edited by Li Zhuomin (李卓敏; Choh-Ming Li) was first published in 1980 by the Chinese University Press in Hong Kong and is the first Chinese dictionary based on the form of phonetics as class heads. It contains more than 12,800 individual characters and has a total of 1171 classes. This dictionary uses a simple and easy-to-remember vertical character index system to arrange many words with the same stroke in the order of different stroke types in the spelling of Chinese characters: (1) period, (2) sloping from top right to bottom left Line, (3) vertical line, (4) line running down to the right, and (5) horizontal line), which makes it easier to find.
