The following table lists the administrators of Lakshadweep with their respective terms of office. Under the name of "Lakkadiven, Amindiven and Minicoy", the area, which until then belonged to the state of Madras , was administered as a union territory of the Indian Union by an administrator of the Indian Administrative Service since November 1, 1956 . On November 1, 1973 it was named "Lakshadweep".
